Second Data
FAQ

Questions sellers ask.

The basics

Why would AI teams pay for our data?

AI systems learn from real work. Years of your team’s messages, tickets, code, and documents show how skilled people actually solve problems, and public data cannot show that. That is why AI teams pay for it.

Who buys it?

AI teams that need real business data. We are your advisor: we find the buyer, handle the privacy work, and run the deal from first call to close.

Is this a loan or a cash advance?

No. It is a sale or license of an asset you already own. No repayment, no interest, no personal guarantee, and no lien on your business.

Will anyone know I sold?

Not publicly. We never publish who we work with, and buyers are bound by confidentiality.

Privacy and rights

What about employee and customer privacy?

Names, email addresses, phone numbers, and account IDs are removed or masked before data goes to any buyer. We also leave out payment details and health information entirely.

Price and process

Do you need full access before making an offer?

No. A short description and a small sample are usually enough to price it.

What format does the data need to be in?

Whatever you have. A Slack or Teams export, a help desk export, a Git repository, a Drive folder. We handle the cleanup.

What makes data worth more?

Volume, years of history, complete records, and specialized work. Deep, multi-year archives from skilled teams get the best prices.

When do I get paid?

Within 7 days of close.

How long does it take?

We move fast and work to your timeline.

Situations

We were acquired. Who can sell the data?

It depends on how the deal was done.

Asset sale: the buyer took only what the purchase agreement lists. If your historical records stayed with you, you may still own them, and you may be able to sell them.

Stock or share sale: the company and its records went to the buyer, so the new owner decides. We can help you start that conversation.

Not sure which you did? Tell us how the deal was structured, and we will review it with you.

My company is shutting down. Can I still sell?

Yes, often. Data can be one of the last assets with real value, and we can work on your wind-down timeline.
